Context
After the idea for a transparent and secure election system was born, the next step was to move beyond casual brainstorming and begin shaping it into a structured initiative. Our small group of friends knew we couldn’t do it alone — the project needed contributions from diverse IT experts across the globe.
How It Started
At this early stage, we were only a handful of people. To move forward, we reached out to professionals we trusted and were fortunate to bring Mr. Anish Pokhrel into the initiative. With his experience working on the election system in the USA, he began drafting the first proposal for the system.
While Mr. Pokhrel focused on the draft, the rest of us started researching existing models, tools, and global best practices in election technology. At the same time, we realized the need to reach a wider audience to bring in experts across development, cybersecurity, data, networking, and infrastructure.
Key Insights
A strong foundation required both local passion and international expertise.
Having someone with real election system experience gave the project credibility and direction.
Outreach was essential — to attract professionals who could strengthen the team.
Next Steps
To open the doors for collaboration, we prepared and published our first public post (see above) calling for 20 Nepali IT professionals in Nepal and abroad to join us. This marked the official beginning of our outreach and expansion efforts.
This was the shift from being a small group with an idea to taking concrete steps toward building a professional, collaborative initiative.
